Team Tonga Swimming Final Wrap-Up – Pacific Mini Games 2025

Team Tonga Swimming officially concluded its competition at the 2025 Pacific Mini Games in Palau on 4 July, finishing with pride, strong performances, and several national milestones.
The final day opened with the Men’s 50m Freestyle, where Finau Ohuafi won his heat and advanced to the final. In the evening session, he recorded a personal best time of 23.56 seconds, improving on his morning swim of 23.96 seconds.
In the Women’s 50m Freestyle, Carolann Faeamani and Charissa Sofia Panuve delivered consistent swims, while Vaoahi Afu ended her campaign with a personal best improvement of 1.25 seconds.
The 100m Backstroke featured strong efforts from the younger athletes:
- Alexander Villami (14) improved his time by 10.96 seconds
- Luseane Limoni (14) showed focus and composure throughout her swim
- Carolann Faeamani finished 8th overall in her event
To close out the Games, the Women's 400m Medley Relay team set a new national record — a fitting way to end the meet.
Performance Highlights:
- 18 personal bests recorded
- 3 new national records (2 by Carolann Faeamani, 1 by Finau Ohuafi)
- 1 national relay record
- 5 finals appearances (3 by Finau Ohuafi, 2 by Vaoahi Afu, 1 by the women’s relay team)
Youth on the Rise:
Special recognition goes to our youngest swimmers — Alexander Villami (14) and Luseane Limoni (15) — who achieved personal bests in nearly all of their events, representing the bright future of Tonga Swimming.
