Team Tonga Volleyball wrapped up their campaign in Palau with proud performances, representing the Kingdom with determination and spirit in every match.

Team Tonga’s Men’s Beach Volleyball pair—Ti’o Fonohema and Sione Vaitafa—concluded their pool play matches at the 2025 Pacific Mini Games on Long Island Beach in Palau. Their campaign was marked by determined play, team spirit, and moments of brilliance on the court.

Match Results:

  • Tonga vs Samoa – Loss (0–2): 12–25, 0–21
  • Tonga vs Kiribati – Win (2–0): 21–12, 21–8
  • Tonga vs Guam – Loss (1–2): 21–18, 18–21, 14–16

The pair secured a solid win over Kiribati and came close to victory against Guam in a tightly contested three-set battle. Despite not advancing, Ti’o and Sione carried Tonga’s legacy in beach volleyball with pride—especially meaningful for Ti’o, who returned to Palau 20 years after his 2005 gold medal win.

Malo e mateaki’i fonua — a proud and passionate effort on the Pacific stage.
